Elia Gaitau,

Born (1973)  and raised from Auckland, New Zealand,  Elia is now based in Japan.
He started learning piano at the age of 9 and has been exposed to all genres of music throughout his life.

The youngest of 10 siblings, Elia's Samoan/Niuean Cultural heritage plays an important part of the person he is today. 
From High School, Elia was involved with the school funk band and Big band.
After serving a two year voluntary mission for his Church in Perth, Australia, Elia continued to further develop his musical skills at the Wellington Conservatorium of Music, specializing in Jazz piano.
To help him pay for his tution, he was actively engaged with playing in various bands and for various N.Z artists covering RnB, Motown, Latin, Reggae, Hip Hop, Funk, Country, and Pop music.
Elia is a very talented and gifted player, and is always in high demand for his multiple skills, not only as a pianist, but also as a Composer, Arranger, and Educator.

After Completing his Bachelor's Degree in Jazz from Massey University,
and teaching as a music Teacher at Te Wanaga O Aotearoa (Mangere Campus)  Elia travelled to Japan to perform in a show band, performing dinner shows, ball room dancing shows, solo Jazz piano shows etc every night in Hotels. Covering all genres of Music.
He now lives in Kanagawa Prefecture, and is currently very active in Tokyo's  music scene. 
After working on various projects, and after many requests, Elia is now currently working on his own musical projects.
 Look out for this undiscovered talent, he has a an amazing sound that needs to be shared and heard!
